OSX: How to take a screen shot

There are several ways to capture your screen on OSX. Find below the key sequences to the most used screen capture commands.

Entire display screen shot
This takes an screenshot of your entire display.

CMD+SHIFT+3

Area screen shot
This action will show you a crosshair cursor allowing you to select an area to capture

CMD+SHIFT+4

Window screen shot
This action provides you with a camera cursor allowing you to select a window to capture.

CMD+SHIFT+4+SPACE

Upon a successful capture a PNG will be saved to your specified screenshot location. This is usually in your “Pictures” directory or on your desktop.
